    2. I've searched for records supporting Jan and Gerriken and have been unable to find anything to support it. There are no Baptism or marriage records of a Jan (either purported Jan Sr. or Jan of N.A.) within a hundred years in Arnhem. Whether it's because they never existed, or have been lost or not online, I don't know. As I recall, there were some Sara Theunis' in the right general time frame in Rotterdam, but I don't have enough enough information to link her to any (Sara being extremely common, and Teunis/Thuenis not being rare). I have no information to discredit it, but Pete has mentioned that he has reasons to disbelieve it.
