I have a number of documents pertaining to Isaac Van Norman (Hannah Brown) land grants. In addition to what I have listed below I have an index for both, a letter from NYS Library (to Karl VN) saying "Patent for land of Isaac Van Norman delivered to John M. Watson" (I belive that refers to the "assign" listed below. Does anyone know how these things worked? Are there more documents to be found? Arlene Van Norman Reeves 7913- March 14 1893 - a document requesting a survey of 100 acres for Isaac Van Norman "of the late New York line" Then on March 23, 1893 he signed a document to "assign" the land "for the use of the people of the State of New York" 27532 Sept 15, 1848 (the original document that was found) "heirs "are entitled to 160 acres" this document appears to have been filed by the same guy "A. L. Lynde" that applied for Hannah's pension. What I find interesting is Hannah was not listed on this document. Then another document dated Feb 20 1849 "in their favor" naming the land and all the heirs and "subject to sale at Mineral Point" (that's the land office)
