James Johnston wife was Betsey Vanorman - COULD WILLIAM BE A BROTHER") 1880 census Ithaca,Tompkins County NY Archibald VanOrman b.1806 has "niece" Elizabeth Vanorman b. 1840- niece keeping house William Van Orman b. 1811 has "niece" Nettie Brown b. 1860 - niece keeping house. His son Myron b 1841 tobacco dealer is also there. I am unable to figure out who the nieces belong to. Arlene

    3. Hi! I believe Archibald's niece is his brother Isaac's (wife Lucinda) daughter born ca. 1837 in Tompkins County, NY. I haven't figured out Nettie Brown yet, but perhaps she was related on William's wife Nancy's side????
