Benjamin Franklin VANCE was born ca 1827 in Tenn. He married Catherine TANKSLEY in Jan 1850, in Carthage (Hancock) Illinois. Catherine was born in Jackson Co, Tenn. They were married by Solomon PENDARVIS, bought land in Birmingham Twp (Schuyler) Ill from a ROBERTS family. Both of these family's are from the Smith Co area of Tenn, and seem to "somehow" connect to Benjamin's VANCE family back in Tenn. Any suggestion or help will be greatly appreciated!
