Ramsey Vance was born ca 1800 in Tenn, and is mentioned in some Smith Co, Tenn deeds ca 1833. He, and his wife Letsey are in Smith Co in the 1850 Census. I have just found them in the Hopkins Co, Texas census in 1860, with 4 daughters and a son John, but by the 1870 Hopkins Co, Texas census, it only shows Ramsey's wife Letsey and their son John. It "appears" that Ramsey is the son of a John Vance, unless their was an older son I have not yet found. I am trying to track this John Vance line back, to see who he connects to ( ? Thomas / Samuel?), if you have any ideas, please contact me!
