I am a member of the VFA, and am searching for information on my GGGG grandfa John Vance, who died before 25 May 1801 in Topsham, VT. I am searching for info on the couple I believe to be his parents: HUGH and MARY (Pemberton) VANS. They had a son John in 1737 in Boston. I am kind of stuck at this point and will be glad to share all I have. In case it would be of help to anyone, here is my lineage: John and Jane (---) Vance, through their son: David Vance and wife Olive (David born Apr 1788 Boston or CT?), their son: Aaron Vance and wife Lucinda Ann Tucker (Aaron born 14 Oct 1812 Groton,VT): George Livermore Vance and wife Elizabeth Kumbel Fowler (George L. born 13 Mar 1839 Groton, VT), through their son and my grandfather: George Alexander Vance and wife Helen Irene Taxis (George born 21 Apr 1869 in Washington, D.C.) My dad, Geo. T. Vance, born 1900 Joliet, IL. I have all names of children of David, Aaron, Geo. L., Geo A., and am always looking for a new cousin. More than glad to share what I have.
