Andrew Vance 1st and wife Jane were born and married in Ireland- came with with William Hoge (Hogg) to Pennsylvania, later to Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. James Vance (John Of Goagh) and brother of Andrew 1st, married Mary Hogg in Ireland. Their daughter, Margaret, married George Balbirnie of Scotland. George Washington, grandson of James (above) author of "Vans Family 1825" died in Dublin 1852 (unmarried). One of Andrew Vance1st sons was an officer in the American Revolution- killed fighting under Washington. Andrew Vance 1st was the 4th son of John of Goah. Andrews will was probated in 1754 in Virginia and names sons and one daughter: Samuel Vance m. Sarah Coleville William Vance m. Alexander Vance Mary Vance m. Andrew Greer Andrew Vance 2nd b. 1735 m.
