Two excellent genealogists (the Canns) have reached a similar conclusion, but continue the search in hope of finding a "clue" as to who William Vance's parents were. Knowing that their are others who search for the parents of William's siblings is encouraging. Contacting the Canns and leaving posts here will be most appreciated. Somewhere there will be a descendant with old letters or documents that may provide insights as to the identity of William's parents.
