Robert Vance was born in Culpeper,Va. in 1736. He married a Jean White, March 20, 1775. He passed away in 1818. He is buried in the Montour Church's Cemetary, close to Pittsburg, Pa. They had, according to what I have, 10 children. They were as follows: David Vance, b. 1777 Sarah Vance, b. 1779 Samual Vance, b. 1781 Elizabeth Vance, b. 1783 Joseph Vance, b. November 14, 1784 Jane Vance, b. May 8, 1786 Robert Vanve, b. June 10, 1788 John Vance, b. June 19, 1790 William Vance, b. June 24, 1792 Andrew Vance, b. July 27, 1794 According to my records, Capt. Robert Vance's father was David Vance and the mother was Priscilla Brank Vance. There has been some discrepency over who his father was. At the time of when my information was gathered, they assumed it was David, but it could have been David's brother Samual.
