It has been a while since I posted and since the list seems to be more active thought I would try again. Searching for the parents (or siblings) of Phillip VANCE (aka John Phillip Vance, Phillip Wantz and Phillip Pfance), I believe he was born in York, Pennsylvania. From his obituary: VANCE, Philip 74 Troy, Ohio Died Saturday June 3, 1911 at his home on S. Plum St. Burial Riverside Cemetery-Troy, Ohio. Survivors: two daughters, Mrs Adolph CRESS and Mrs. Willis Ross (Cordelia) HONEYMAN and Miss Sarah Vance. His wife, Mary Shrader Vance* died seven months ago. *Note: Actually, his second wife, Jennie Hubbard was the one who "died seven months ago". His first wife Mary Rose SCHRADER died May 9, 1928 and is buried in Wheelock Cemetery. I have a copy of her will. Her parents were Charles Schrader and Roseanna Gates. Mary was born October 7, 1841 in Ohio. Also searching for more information on her parents/grandparents. 1870 census Phillip and Mary were living in Concord Twp., Miami County, Ohio, occupation carpenter, born Penna. 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 census Mary Vance was living in Union Twp., Miami County, Ohio.
