My maternal grandfather is Claude Vance, nickname Pete Vance(born 1907) married Susan O'Dowd and had 8 children. Buddy(died at a very young age,Irma Jean(my mother born 1932),Doris Lee,Francis, Jack, NellaMae, Janet(died on her 16th birthday, Janet and Suzzette. I was always told my Grandpa Pete's Father was Chance Vance.The story went something like this "Eliza hit Chance with a skillet and killed him."
