Who was the father of the Eliza J. Vance who married William S. Evans in Sangamon Co., IL on 4 Feb 1868? Brothers Michael Vance (b. abt 1821) and James H. Vance (b. abt 1829) were sons of James Vance and Barbara Miller Vance and they both had daughters named Eliza J. Vance. Michael's daughter was born about 1843 in OH and James H. Vance's daughter was born in Boone Co., VA in 1850. It is believed that both families were in Sangamon Co., IL in the late 1860s because both of the girls' had siblings who were married there. It is believed that James H. Vance's son John H. Vance married Margaret Anna Wilson in Sangamon Co. in 1877. John moved with his bride to Osage Co., Labette Co., KS where his father and cousins and grandfather James Vance had moved. James H. Vance moved to Cherryvale, Montgomery Co., KS when he stopped farming. Any ideas??? Carole
