I have 2 different VANCE families I am trying to trace and am still searching! They were in Russell, Wise, Buchanan, Dickenson, Counties, VA. and Wayne Co. WVA.... FIRST: is John Vance, son of David Vance and Elizabeth Rose, born 1843, died 1903, buried in Yates Cemetery, Caney Ridge, Dickenson County. He married first Nancy Blair ( and later Nancy Osborne, and Emmy Perry/ not confirmed) .......I am particulary interested in these 5 sons.........who seemed to fall from the face of the earth John ca 1864, Andrew ca 1866, George W ca 1869, Alexander ca 1872, and David ca 1874...........Anyone have information on these 5 sons, or descendants????? Also interested in Nancy Blair Vance, believed to have died in Imboden, VA in the 1930's. SECOND: is Alexander Vance born 1849 Wise Co., son of Absolem & Nancy Vance. He married Ida Blair (b. 1871) in Wayne Co. West VA. They had 2 children, possibly more, Rosa B. born 4 /1891, and Rosco born, 2/1895. I have an Alexander in Wayne Co. in 1920, about the right age, by himself in the Poor House. I can not find his younger wife or the children?????????? Thanks John
