Hello List, This is my first query on the list and I have been hoping to see someone who is also researching my branch of the Vance tree. Elizabeth VANCE, d/o Abner VANCE and Susannah HOWARD, b. abt 1794 in Russell Co., VA; d. aft. 1850 in Logan Co., WV. She married (?) and had five (?) children including James "Big Jim" VANCE, b. abt 1830; d. abt 1888. James married Mary COLLINS (?), and had four (?) children incl. Jane VANCE, b. abt 1849 (RE: 1850 Census, Logan Co., VA). Jane married abt. 1868, Evans FERRELL. They had eleven children among whom was my grandfather, Allen FERRELL, b. 1889 in Thacker, Mingo Co., WV. Are there any other descendants of James and Mary COLLINS VANCE, who are researching this family and would be willing to share their information? It is my understanding that Elizabeth VANCE, d/o Abner and Susannah, never married and her children were born out of wedlock. Thank you for any help. Connie Chancellor [email protected]
