Does anyone out there have a Marcena/Marsina/Marcennia or Marsena Vance, b. 1828 in what is now WV? It is said that she may be the daughter of James Vance and the sister of Thomas Jefferson Vance, b. abt 1841 OH. Marcena was married in Sangamon Co., IL in 1846 to Alexander Reeves of Gardner Twp. and Thomas J. Vance was with her after 1862 and married one of her neighbors, Emily C. Lasswell, in 1864. After Alexander Reeves died Marcena moved to Fancy Creek Twp in about 1865 and then to Oregon in the mid-1870s. Tom and Emily Vance moved to Labette Co., KS in about 1867.
