I was intrigued to see that Ellen Vance married John Welsh and that their daughter married John McConnell in Scotland, albeit his family was from Donegal. My great grandfather, John McConnell, and his wife, Annie Patterson, were married in Donegal but went to Scotland at the end of the 19th century. While there they had my great uncle John, who was born in Grangemouth in 1899. I kmow that John married Maggie Whiteside in Belfast in 1921. It's maybe a bit far fetched that he could have been married to Jane Welsh, even for a couple of years? It's probably just one big coincidence.
