A Shawnee researcher told me the same thing some time back. I descend of both Jacob Castle and Vances, but through different lines. The way I remember it is: a John Vance married a daughter of Jacob Castle. Jacob lived in the same neighborhoods as Vances in several areas. Hi, anyone on the list tell me about Frances Vance who is a female and the daughter of Moses Vance of Fayette Co. PA. Frances was born about 1800-1802 and I cannot locate any info on her. I am looking for a Catherine Vance, born approx 1794 in Fayette County, and I cannot locate info on her was was wondering if Frances and Catherine could be one in the same.
