I am looking for information about Mary Elizabeth Vance. I do not have much info on her. The information that I do have is that she married a man named Joseph Dove and she had a daughter Morning (Mourning) Dove. Morning Dove changed her name at some point to Martha. Mary was born in Tennessee, however Martha was born in Estill County KY. Martha was born on October 30, 1873. That is the only info that I have except (family conversation) Martha was a full blood Native American so I would think that both her mother and father were Native American also. I do not know birth or death. he was married to my ggggrandmother Elizabeth Blankenship. her parents were: Daniel Blankenship and Margaret (Peggy) Cline. Her son, George Chipley Vance, went by Blankenship, was reared by Daniel and Peggy. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated. Since we have some new people on the list, I'm going to try again with my quest. I have a Mary Vance b. ca 1810 who married a Mr. Neal - Neel - Neil. The 1850 Census for Allegheny Co., Pa.has a Mary Neel with 2 sons: John 11 and William 4 living with a Jane Kelly 79. There is no Neel husband so he either died or went west in the gold rush. The 1860 Census has Mary living with a family as a housekeeper and William @10 living with the Good family in Ross Twp., Allegheny Co., Pa. There is no John that I can find. Mary Neal died in 1874 in Allegheny Co., Pa. Does anyone have any information regarding a Vance - Neal/Neel/Neil marriage? Thanks so very much. I've been 25 years on this brick wall.
