Hello- I just discovered this list and am relatively new to genealogy- please excuse any 'newbie' errors... I've searched my VanOsdol line back to Simon VanArsdale, 11 Nov 1750 and died 21 June 1820. That's all the info I have on him. One son was Theodorus Williamson VanOsdol (name changed) born 1781 in Conewago, York Co. PA, married in Shelby Co. KY 1801 to Mary Adams b 1784; their son Theodore Williamson VanOsdol b 17 March 1816 Henry Co. KY moved to Switzerland Co. IN and eventually to DesMoines Co. IA where he died 31 Oct. 1868. He married Hannah Banta (b 12 March 1819) on 13 Oct. 1836. A son John Wesley VanOsdol b 20 Jan 1844 married Lydia Poole. A son of this union, Thomas O. VanOsdol married Mattie Walker- a daugher, Mary Lydia, was my grandmother. Anyone on this list have more info that can take me earlier than Simon? I saw a post on here earlier about the will of Jan Simonse VanArsdalen and a son Simon was listed. How do I find out if this is the same Simon? I'm also looking for more info about the wife of Thomas O., Mattie Walker, and her lineage. Her mother, Hannah Friend, was an Indian according to family lore and I have no idea how to find more info.
