Hi, I am looking for ancestrial info on John Van Arsdale b 27 Aug 1766 probably in York Co PA d 17 Aug 1840 in Niles, NY. Married Catharine (Brinkerhoff) Vanderbilt on 14 Mar 1786 b 26 May 1766 d 5 Nov 1836 in Niles, NY. They had 11 children, ISSAC, JAMES, PETER, JOHN, ELIZABETH, SARAH, ANDREW, HENRY, ELIJAH, THOMES AND WILLIAM. James b 13 Mar 1789 d 30 Nov 1872, Niles, NY married Catharine Cooper b 25 Sep 1798 d 7 Nov 1862. They had 5 children, MARY ANN, LEONARD, BETSEY JANE, BENJAMIN AND THOMAS. Mary Ann b 6 Jun 1822 Niles, NY d 1 Jun 1911 Scipio, NY married PETER Van Arsdale b Aug 1817 d May 1864. Peter was taken prisoner at the 2nd Battle of Bull Run. He was too ill (probably dysentary) to keep up with the forced march to Libby Prison and was shot and killed. I have no other info on this Peter who is not the same Peter as listed previously.
