Hi, cousin Kay - your Eliza and my Charles were brother and sister. Charles was my great-great grandfather. I have a birth date and death date for Eliza Jane, if you do not have them. We here in the midwest document our connection to the Serine/Sirrine family of Dutchess County, NY, in an unpublished manuscript written in the 1940s which is now in the possession of a lady in Michigan, although I have a copy of it, as do many of the Serine descendants here in the Midwest. Even though we had facts, a researcher in New York who had written a book (the same one?) refused to believe that we were of any relation, since the person "didn't have anything on us." But we are here, and we are of that family. I would love to exchange data with you, Kay. I am also in touch with a VanNosdall who is trying to connect his VanNosdalls in Michigan (and Illinois) with the Sirrines. My family spelled the name Serine - they went to Iowa from Dutchess County NY, also, and stayed there. I am also a VanAusdal/VanOsdel/VanArsdall descendant, as is my husband, and I am a Mackey descendant. I am unfortunately leaving for vacation, but please keep me on your list and when I get back, I would dearly love to compare notes. My mother lived with her grandmother Serine when she was growing up in Iowa. I have many Serine/Sirrine pictures that I inherited, but many of the people in the pictures are not named.
