You can find out if a photo existsof your Civil War ancestor. Go to this site, enter the surnameyou're searching , and the results page will give any photosof any soldier with that surname and his regiment. You cansend an e-mail with the photo ID's that you're interested in, andthe Army will send you for free a photocopy of the picture, alongwith instructions on ordering a duplicate photo.
