Dear Friends I found some possible avenues of my VanArsdale research and wanted to know if anyone has seen this: In the 1850 NYC City Directory was: Simon VanArsdale, with wife Elizabeth and son, William. Simon was a "carman", son William was policeman. When I found Elizabeth in the 1860 Census she was a widow and had living in the same household was a son Theodore, age 18, and son John J., age 16. William had married by this time and was out of the household. William later settled in Westchester Co. and ran a livery stable and was an undertaker. William was born in 1835. Does this sound familiar to anyone or can this seem to connect to the other Van Arsdale families in NYC? -- Alvie L.
