GREAT IDEA! Those who subscribe to "The Vanguard" may have seen my query, "trying to determine the parents of DERRICK VANNOSDALL (1777-1853) of Dutchess Co.NY who married Elizabeth Rynders in 1799 and his brother AARON (1788-1854) who married Elizabeth Appleby. All are buried in the Middlebush Cemetery, Dutchess Co. NY. I believe an error was made by a previous researcher in the 1940's in her attempt to get into the DAR. She listed Derrick and Aaron as sons of Teunis and Jane Wier VanArsdale , Montgomery, Orange CoNY. My research here in Dutchess Co. has Derrick & Aaron listed as children of Dirck VanArsdale b.ca.1740's Raritan NJ married Marytje Vermilyea on 29Jan1767 in Hopewell Junction Dut.Co. NY. Records of the DRC Hopewell Junction, Poughkeepsie and Fishkill include many Van Arsdales, Osdel, and Vermilyea. Unfortunately the pages that would include the dates near the birth of both Derrick and Aaron are missing. My conjecture is that Derrick and Aaron were of the Dutch Ref. faith as was Dirck and Marytje however Teunis and Jane Wier VanArsdale were of the Presbyterian faith. If Dirck and Marytje are the parents my "brick wall" is, "WHO ARE DIRCK'S PARENTS"?
