I am researching Vanarsdall's from the Johnson, Marion, Hendricks & Hamilton Counties of Indiana. I am specifically looking for information on a John C. Vanarsdall & Elizabeth that in 1850 were in Mercer County, Kentucky with a daughter, age 4 months. In 1860, John C., age 36 and Elizabeth, age 26, were in Johnson County, Indiana with a daughter Elizabeth Martha, age 11, John C., age 7, and a daughter Josephine, age 2. My g-g grandmother was Elizabeth Martha Vanarsdall. She married Robert Leroy Newman in 1876 in Johnson County. She died in 1885 in Johnson County. Josephine married a Jerry Tingle in 1875 in Johnson County. I have been unable to track the John C., age 7. I am trying to find out what happen to him, unless he is one of two (2) Calvin's, age 14, shown in 1870. One was living with John C. Vanarsdall family, the other with a Abraham Vanarsdall family as a farm laborer. He may have been counted twice. I am also having trouble connecting my John C. Vanarsdall family to the John C. Vanarsdall that in 1870 has a different set of children. A Calvin K., bn 1856, daughters Emma, bn 1863, Margaret Ellen, bn 1868, Vennia, bn Abt 1871& Sally, bn Bet 1860-1862. There are also age discrepancies in the records for John C. Vanarsdall. Some records show him born 1829 and some show him born 1824. Does this fit into your family tree in some way. I would appreciate any information or suggestions you might be willing to share. Jim Newman
