    3. Did you per chance find any cemetery inscriptions with these names on them?: Catherine Jackson Currie VanArsdale or Lucas Cornelius VanArsdale or Lucas VanArsdale. Lucas C. Van was my gr-gr-grandfather and died in 1872...... in Mississippi I am assuming......but no gravesite has been found. His wife, Catherine was vey much alive as was his youngest son, Lucas, in the 1880's as proven by all their land dealings (buying and selling, etc.) but by the time the 1900 census rolled around.......neither is anywhere to be found. They were fairly wealthy people and who knows but what the remains were transported to PA for some reason. However, I doubt if transportation of the demised was possible in 1872. Just thought I'd ask. Lucas Cornelius VanArsdale was born in Kentucky, 1807. I have an uncle whose name was spelled Vanosdall. He was a gr-grandson of Lucas. They spelled the name so many ways. Thanks and congratulations on you good fortune with finding so much on your family. 3. Lucy, Did you try Pascagoula, MS in the 1900 census? There was a Van family there in that census year, but I can't remember who they were and don't have my database back on my computer yet. 3. Sorry, none of the names are similar. The SW Ohio Van Arsdale/Vanosdol family seems to have gone on into Indiana, or stayed in Ohio for another generation or two. Don't see any inclination from there toward Mississippi. That doesn't rule it out, naturally. I sure don't know where they all went!
