Am sharing the following information I recently received from a VAN researcher Nancie Davis. DIRCK VAN NOSDALLEN ca.1740 "of Raritan, NJ" married MARYTJE VERMILYEA on 29Jan1767 at DRC Hopewell Junction, Dut.Co. NY. Children: 1.LEVINTYEA (Dutch for Catherine) "Wynche" b.ca1768 marr.John Beadle/Beagle and lived in Schoharie Co. NY. "In their old age their children could not afford to house them together, so she returned to Fishkill where she died."(This information is varified abstracts of Rev.War Pension files.) She was living with her brother James b.1785 in Fishkill, NY. John stayed with their son Moses Beagle in Schoharie Co.NY. 2.JANNETJE bp26May1769 DRC Hopewell 3.JOHANNES bp9May1771DRC Hopewell. wife Phebe. Couple moved to Schoharie Co NY and died there. (There is an entry from the NY Genealogical & Bio book Vol.106 #4 p230 (microfilm) that shows a VANNOSDALL/VANOSDALL... JOHN & PHEBE VANNOSDALL b.ca1768 In Schoharie Co. NY in 1810 with children Maria m. Fred Wenngar Jacob Elizabeth m.Edgar Livingston (none listed after 1850 in Schoharie Co NY 4.JEMIMA b or bp 31Dec1773, m. Aaron Cole in 1799 & died in 1851 bur Middlebush Cemetery along with her brothers Aaron and Derrick 5.SARAH bp16Jul1777 DRC Hopewell 6.DERRICK b.1777 (bp1778) "I have not found this record however Nancie may have additional information" He married Elizabeth Rynderse or Rynders in 1799 DRC Poughkeepsie Dut Co NY and died in 1853 (bur. Middlebush) 7.JAMES b1785, wife Elizabeth; died in Fishkill (I have a list of their children and will send that later) 8. BENJAMIN b. ca 1786 m.Mrs. Elizabeth (Nostrand or VanNostrand) Churchill 18July1818 DRC New Hackensack; died Schoharie Co. NY. Had a child HAVILY b.5Sept1819 and bp DRC 22 July 1819. 9.AARON b1788 m.Elizabeth Appleby d.1854 in Fishkill/East Fishkill. Bur.Middlebush."Aaron had 10 children (will send list later) and lived in New Hamburg, Dut. Co. NY and across the Hudson River in Milton, Ulster Co. NY. Some of his children married Irish people. There was a ferry that ran between New Hamburg and Milton during this time period, also the people walked across the river in the winter. Also Aaron's brother Derrick is the father of my GGgrandfather John R. VanNosdall b1808 who lived in New Hamburg (noted in 1850 Census) and was a blacksmith as was John's brother Heber b.1814 and their brother James b.1817. Is there a chance that this information will finally settle the question of "Who was Derrick and Aaron's father?" And if it is Dirck VanNosdallen where did he come from? If we can prove the above information is fact then corrections need to be made in the entires that have Derrick and Aaron as sons of Tunis VanArsdale of Montgomery, Orange Co. NY. Thanking everyone in advance for any help they can give in solving this mystery. I will be putting names of children and other information I have on this rather extended family here in Dutchess Co. soon. Kay (VanNosdall) Mackey
