After practicing for a few yers he quit on account of temporary ill-health and spent the rest of his life in farming. He was of a quiet and studious disposition, taking a great interest in literature and art and during his younger years greatly enjoyed traveling. He was a great lover of his home and family and while he never became a member of any church organization he was a firm believer in the teachings of the Bible which he greatly loved to study. While he had been in failing health for several years his condition was not regarded as serious until a few days before his death. He was a good neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends as will as by his bereaved family. "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."
