Sijmon Jansz van Aersdalen was born either late 1627 or early 1628 in Nukerke, East Flanders, Belgium, where he was baptized in February 1628. He moved to Holland with his family around 1648. He left Amsterdam in 1653. He married Pieteje Claese van Schouw (not Wyckoff) around 1656; she was his second wife. They had 6 children (Cornelis, Jan, Geertje, Metje, Jannetje, and Marretje, the last of whom apparently died young). Cornelis Simonsz and brother Jan Simonsz both had eleven children, although only 10 of Cornelis' have been identified. Cornelis' first wife was Aeltje Willemse van Kouwenhoven by whom he had one daughter. Charles R. Vanorsdale
