John and Elizabeth Scott had a dau Martha Elizabeth,bn Abt 1849/Ky, Josephine, bn 1858/Ind, and a son John C., bn 1853/Ind. The family came to the Johnson, Hendricks, Marion County area of Indiana sometime after 1850. Josephine married a Jerry Tingle; Martha Elizabeth married my g grandfather Robert L. Newman. I need information on the son John C. Vanarsdale(dall).
The Johnson Co IN INGENWEB site and INJOHNSO-L are quite active. Have you posted there? The Johnson Co Historical Museum has quite a genealogy section, including shelves of Mercer Co KY books. Hello, Jim! I have tried to send you several messages but the server seems to be acting up tonight and I'm not sure any of them got through. At any rate...I wasn't sure this was my husband's Vanarsdall family, but when you mentioned Hendricks County and Jerry Tingle all in the same message, I knew it was. John C. and Elizabeth Scott were my husband's g-g-grandparents. I have posted for years and you are the first person to ever post the same names. My husband is not a genealogist and is not too knowledgeable about his family, but I hope between the three of us we can piece this family together a bit more. I have several children that you don't list, and while I don't know much about the family back beyond Indiana, I'm sure Mark Thomas can help us in Mercer Co KY. I have quite a bit of information on the family after they came to Indiana, though.
