    3. Hello Cousin: Are you related to Amos Vannarsdall of Georgetown, Kentucky in 1996? If so, I hope this messege finds him well. This Amos Vannarsdall and I were researching the same lines. On my trip to Mercer County, Kentucky in 1996, I came across Amos' research at the Harrodsburg Historical Society in town. I called him on the phone when I retuned home, and wrote him a few times. Amos Vannarsdall and I share a common ancestry in Cornelius Van Arsdall (1748-1840) and his wife Jannetje "Jane" Baird (1753-1800). Amos' line continues through their eldest son Abraham Vanarsdall b. abt. 1774 Somerset County, New Jersey, who was named after his paternal grandfather Abraham Van Aersdalen (1708-1753) of Somerset County, New Jersey. Abraham Vanarsdall b. abt. 1774, married soon after the families arrival in Mercer County, Kentucky in 1794, but he later removed his family from that area. Either he or his descendants adopted the spelling Vannarsdall. My ancestry continues through his younger brother Alexander Vanarsdall (1777-1855) who was named after his maternal grandfather Alexander Baird (1731-1764) of Somerset County, New Jersey. I have a great deal on our Scotish Baird lines, if your interested. Alexander Vanarsdall remained in the vicinity of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, as did his descendants in my direct line for many generations. My mother was Ann Dalton Van Arsdall (1929-2000)Can we exchange family info? Please say hello to your father Amos Vannarsdall for me, and tell him I think about him sometimes. In the beginning, I resisted the use of computers for several years, and did everything by hand. I would be lost now without my e-mail and internet friends and family. 3. Mark and all, I have been researching my wife's Van Asdlan family. As part of the ongoing research, I have been told that she is descended from Jan Van Aerts Daalen, through Simon Jansz Van Aerts Daalen (1629 - 1710), Cornelius Simonsz Van Aersdalen (1662 - 1745), Jan 'John' Vanarsdalen (1696 - 1750), Johannes Van Asdlen (1731 - 1772), Issac Vanarsdlen (1770 - 1839), John Van Asdlan (b 1802), John Van Asdlan, Jr. (1875-1912), John Van Asdlan III (1875 - 1957) and her father Earl Van Asdlan (1902 - 1965). Most of these people lived in New Jersey and Pennsylvania until about 1927 when John III and Earl moved to Tucson, Arizona. I have a Jannetje "Jane" Baird (1753-1800) shown in the line and believe that although the spellings may be different they are probably the same people and that the Jan 'John' Vanarsdalen in my wife's line and the Abraham Vanarsdall listed in your post were brothers. I would be interested in comparing notes on the family. Another part of your post that intrigues me is the connection to Mercer County, Kentucky. That is near the area, Perryville, Boyle County, Kentucky, where my Stigall and Broyles lines have been centered for the last 100 to 150 years. Are there any connections to these lines in your research?
