Born March 25, 1920 in Indianapolis, he attended school there before joining the Navy. He served during World War II and later worked in the Indianapolis area as a typesetter for a printing company. He was a member of Printing and Graphic Communications Union 17. He married the former Ethel Young, and she preceded him in death in December 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Barb Dowell and husband Glenn, Brazil; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wynema Bell, and two brothers, Dr. Wesley Vanosdol and Clarence Vanosdol. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at French Funeral Home, Brazil. Rev. Ernie Rush will officiate. Visitation is set for one hour prior to services.
