Rhoda: Sorry. Priestly Vanarsdale, Sr. and Nancy Fallis were not listed on my marriage index [Vanarsdalls only] for Mercer Co., KY. "Kentucky 1840 Census Index," by Jackson and Teeples, Accelerated Indexing Systems, Inc., Bountiful, Utah, P. 228 lists Priestly Vanorsdall in Mercer Co., KY, P. 173 of the census. Vanorsdall was the common spelling in the 1840 Kentucky census index for Mercer County. I found no listing for Priestly Vanarsdale in Kentucky or Indiana census indexes for 1850, and nothing in Kentucky for 1860. There were no listings for any Vanarsdale in Trimble Co., KY in 1850 or 1860, by any spelling of the surname. Do you know if Priestly Vanarsdale, Sr. may have went by another given name? This may be a stretch, but there was a listing in 1850 for "Prinnty Vanarsdallo" in Boyle Co., KY, P. 371. This could be a mispelling made by the indexer. I do not have a copy of this record. Of course, it could also be that he was in another state in 1850 and 1860.
