Hello Mark, Aviva and Jacob, Just read your mail to Charles re: VanGuard (upcoming) news, etc. Since you seem to be doing alot of the writing, etc., and I had been pondering who to ask this question........Here goes. I recently had a Memorial Marker Headstone Dedication Service for my gr-uncle, 1st Lieut. Robert Cornelius VanArsdale, son of Lucas Cornelius VanArsdale of Mississippi. I wrote an article for the local paper and our National UDC Magazine, etc. Robert was killed at the Battle of Shiloh, 1862 and body never recovered. So I ordered a marble headstone from the Dept. of Vet. Affairs, my husband erected it beside his 2 year-old son, who bore his father's name. Robert's wife waited 10 years to marry. Don't know where she went after that. But she has an interesting history. (Her father had 100 slaves before the Civil War and her mother is a descendant of Pocahontus.) Long story. Simply wanted to know if the Memorial Service is newsworthy. When time permits, let me know your thoughts on this. I thank you and best regards to all.
