F.Y.I.: Found this on another list: -------- Original Message -------- Subject: black dutch Resent-Date: Fri, 15 Oct 1999 12:53:31 -0700 (PDT) To: HALL-L@rootsweb.com Hello. Here are some website that list information on the term "black dutch" and "irish dutch" for those interested in them. Black Dutch: http://www.tngenweb.usit.com/cherokee_by_blood/dutch.hml Black Dutch or Irish Dutch: http://www.rosecity.net/chreokee/blackdutch.html Both websites offer information on the subject.
F.Y.I. The Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 17631900 is now available at <http://www2.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/marriage>. There is a search engine, if you do not find a marriage with your first attempt, try spelling variations. Be persistent, it may take a few tries but the data is well worth the effort. This e-mail is being sent to several mailing lists (only those I moderate) and some on-line friends & cousins. I apologize if you receive more than one copy. There is a link <http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igmuser.cgi> to Setup/Edit User Account Information. There is another link <http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi> where it is possible to Search the GEDCOM data currently online. Setup/Edit User Account Information: On this screen you assign yourself a user code and password to allow you to upload your GEDCOM file. This user code and password allows you to come back at any time and revise or reupload your GEDCOM file and display parameters. Search the GEDCOM data currently online: type in the surname (given as well, if you choose) and all submissions matching that surname will listed in boxes below. Name, Birth Date & Place, Death Date & Place, and Database of submitter ..... this is the information available through the search engine. To read notes, see family data, etc. you will need to follow the links. There are some more search engines you will also need to use -- but the "surfing" is fun and the data collection promises to grow in leaps and bounds. I received some jumbled paperwork today begun in 1959, I NEED HELP. Samuel C and brother Gilford Vanarsdale in the late 1880's ran a grain mill in Clayton Indiana. Their father was a Peter Q. Vanarsdale, whose father was either John or Abraham, children of Corneilus. My husband comes from Gilfords daughter Mattie Darnell Vanarsdale, who married Ira Johnson in Kentucky. She was born in Indiana, but the family may have moved to Mercer Co. KY. Does any name leap out. I need the connection back to New York and can't get one, nor can I peice together this large mass of names without dates. Barbara

Hi Brian I am not sure what you know about your father, but if you know his place of birth and send for his birth certificate you may be able to get more information than you have. Some of his family might still be in that area. Do you have any more details that you could provide? His parents names etc....? Was he in the military? His DOB? If you have his SSN you can get information on him from the Public information act or whatever its called.
