There are two Van pictures listed at the site below that I just ran across. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Van Arsdall and Margaret Van Arsdell. According to the info on the site, both are believed to be from the Harrodsburg, KY area. Margaret's picture was found in Dayton, OH. The men who gather this stuff do ask a fee for the pictures, but they say it is a minimal fee. If anyone is interested, you'll just have to find out what the charge is because I didn't check that out. Barb, in MS http://users.erinet.com/31363/photo3.htm

Charles, In trying to find more information on Marytie Vermilyea who married Dirck Van Arsdalen (from the "Raritans, NJ") at the Dutch Reformed Church in Hopewell Junction, Dutchess Co. NY 29Jan1767, I found the VERMILYEA FAMILY ASSN on the web and sent a message. Sandra Vermilyea Todd, the Historian of the Vermilyea Family Assn. responded to my query. That was on 2/6/00. She did have the information on Marytie's parents. Perhaps this is the Sandra Todd . The Address is >VERMREUN@aol.com< Good luck, Kay Mackey
Ann Dalton Van Arsdall Thomas died on Saturday 26 February 2000 at 1:20 A. M. at the Tarzana Regional Medical Center. She was 70 years old, and had resided nearby at the Tarzana Rehabilitation Center for the past two years. I received a call before noon on Friday that Mom had been taken to the hospital, and she hung on till early morning. I spent the afternoon telling her about her new grandson which caused her to rally for a few hours, and I held her hand until the end came. Ann Dalton Van Arsdall was born on 05 April 1929 in the Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles Co., CA, the daughter of Charlie Rose Van Arsdall and Bessie Alma Mullins formerly of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. She married my father "Jack" Albert Thomas on 03 June 1950 in Los Angeles, California. Mom was a retired operator with G.T.E. for nearly twenty years. She was survived by her sister Kathryn Rose Van Arsdall Leighton of Fullerton, California, two sons Mark Alan Thomas of Los Angeles, California and William Van Thomas of Florence, Oregon, and her grandson Jacob Woodson Thomas. Ann met her grandson Jake on the 19th of January, on a sunny morning, on the patio at Tarzana Rehab when he was about three weeks old. I saw Mom again on Monday the 21st of February, when I took out all the pictures of Jake for her to see. It had been raining all month, so my son could not go with me. She was very happy that day. Bill spoke with Mom on Tuesday on the phone. We both thought she was fine. On Friday morning just after breakfast, she sat upright on her bed, turned pale, and her nurse called the paramedics. Her passing was a surprise to everyone. Funeral arrangements are private. Jake has my mother's blue eyes, which at times appear blue-grey. I will write down my memories of grandma for him to have when he is older.
I am trying to reach Sarah Todd, who sent several emails to this list two years ago. Sarah, are you on this list still? Does anyone on this list still communicate with her? Charles R. Vanorsdale

From there, within days The Colorado and Kentucky state Migration pages were coded. In October, I started a Migrations Project in Michigan. Then everything started to pick up speed. After several days of negotiations, the Domain name was purchased on October 30, 1999, and coding was begun on the projects national database. We entered beta testing on November 12, and after some minor problems, sicknesses, glitches, baby's being born (ok, that was major!) etc., we are now ready to roll. The 600+ entries that have been retained during beta testing will remain in the database, the test data has already been deleted. If your immigrant, emigrant, migrant relatives are not there yet, submit them NOW! To make the database accessible to everybody, we made buttons for your state and county pages. The buttons make links to the submission form, and the location/county/state search utility for the national project. With these two buttons, we can connect people anywhere across the country. The submission form accepts up to ten moves in addition to the place of birth. The project then searches each of these up to 11 place names per entry to produce locality, county or state specific searches. There is also a surname search engine, which searches the entire entry (except submitters names), including the 1000 character "additional information" field for any name or word. I think this database will be very useful for our researchers. If your county or state isn't already linked, you can still submit your information, and when the location becomes linked, the data will already be there, waiting, because we are a National project. Stop by and give us a try! Patrick Hays http://www.migrations.org Migrations Staff migrations-staff@mailcity.com
Am sharing the following information I recently received from a VAN researcher Nancie Davis. DIRCK VAN NOSDALLEN ca.1740 "of Raritan, NJ" married MARYTJE VERMILYEA on 29Jan1767 at DRC Hopewell Junction, Dut.Co. NY. Children: 1.LEVINTYEA (Dutch for Catherine) "Wynche" b.ca1768 marr.John Beadle/Beagle and lived in Schoharie Co. NY. "In their old age their children could not afford to house them together, so she returned to Fishkill where she died."(This information is varified abstracts of Rev.War Pension files.) There was a ferry that ran between New Hamburg and Milton during this time period, also the people walked across the river in the winter. Also Aaron's brother Derrick is the father of my GGgrandfather John R. VanNosdall b1808 who lived in New Hamburg (noted in 1850 Census) and was a blacksmith as was John's brother Heber b.1814 and their brother James b.1817. Is there a chance that this information will finally settle the question of "Who was Derrick and Aaron's father?" And if it is Dirck VanNosdallen where did he come from? If we can prove the above information is fact then corrections need to be made in the entires that have Derrick and Aaron as sons of Tunis VanArsdale of Montgomery, Orange Co. NY. Thanking everyone in advance for any help they can give in solving this mystery. I will be putting names of children and other information I have on this rather extended family here in Dutchess Co. soon. Kay (VanNosdall) Mackey
I am looking for Benjamin Van Osdoll (Vannosdol, Vanosdaugh) who was born 1780-1784 and appeared in Wyoming (then Luzerne) County, PA, between 1800 and 1810.
