Hi, thanks so very much for posting this. Can you please check Gasper Link again, though? How can he only have 3 blacks and no white? He is my forefather and had a wife and children, and one slave named "Bob" he left in his will. He was a Hessian soldier pressed into service by his Duke (of Hessia) who deserted and blended in with the Virginia Germans after being marched south after the Battle of Saratoga Springs as a POW of the Continental Army. Two of his daughters married Harless boys (Horlasch) and his granddaughter, Catherine's daughter with Abraham Harless, married John Fillinger and they crossed the mountains into what is now WV. If you can verify this information with Gasper Link, I would appreciate it. I am also descended from Sebastian "Boston" Nosler and the Price (Preiss) family-- all Germans. I hope to come up there this summer from Florida and see that place. How much lan d did 1795 Montgomery County, VA, encompass? Sharon Lee Gates Apopka, FL
