    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henderson, O'Brien Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yAC.2ACE/909.1 Message Board Post: I have some family history compiled by Anna Laura Henderson Trible of Blacksburg which includes and expands on work done by Harvy L Price, a professor at VPI in the 1930's. His work is contained in his "Outlines of Montgomery County Families" dated 1940. That work can be accessed at the Tech library under call # CS69P75. There are four volumns, Hendersons are in Vol. !. I do not know if that work gives primary references or not, but if you are near Blacksburg it might be worth taking a look at it. Anna Laura's work, however, lists William E. Henderson as the second son of Capt. John Henderson and Mary O'Brien (with an "e"). It also gives William's first wife as Nancy "Deyerle", but she has a "?" after that name. There is a second wife, Elizabeth Sessler, who married William in 1833. Also, I have Capt. John Henderson as being born in 1740. The DAR Patriot Index gives it as "circa 1740". In 1740 what is now Montgomery County was part of Augusta County. Can you tell me how (or if) you are related to William? My wife is a decendant of Col. Jonas Henderson, a younger brother of William. Hope this helps, perhaps we should compare notes further.

    3. Can someone here can give me tips on how to located the least expensive Census subscription at Ancestry.com? It used to cost $79 per year. Do you know how to find it...or maybe you know a cheaper price? I've gone to their website, but the only choice they give me is the full subscription for everything. That's waaaaay too expensive.....$299/year...because all I want is the Census subscription. Thanks, Sandy
