Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yAC.2ACE/924.1 Message Board Post: Donald, I'm not a direct descendent of the Locke's (that I know of) but I did have one ancestor, John Locke Taylor (born 1820s or 1830s-died 1893-I have the exact dates at home). John was a brother of my great-great grandfather, James Craig Taylor. From what I know, John spent most of his life in the Christiansburg area. My family has tried to figure out for years where he got his middle name from. Since most people were named for relatives back then, we figured there must have been a Locke somewhere but have never been able to pinpoint one yet. If you have any info. on any Christiansburg/Roanoke/Pulaski Co. ancestors of yours that might be related to any Taylors/Craigs/Wades/Montgomerys/Shields/Gardners, please let me know.
