His father was David, and mother was Elizabeth Jones Smith. William and brother Wilson, and William's son Charles Black Smith (and Charles Black's wife Lucinda Withrow Campbell, of the Archibald Campbell family.) moved to Fayette County, W. Va., then to Pike County, Ohio in 1851. William had two sisters Susan and Elizabeth who married Andrew and Adam Croy in Blacksburg, Va.. Charles Black Smith's obit says that he was named after his family who settled Blacksburg. I have been unable to find a Smith-Black marriage, though the Croys were very active in the settlement of Blacksburg. Can anyone help with siblings of William other than Wilson, Elizabeth, and Susan? Or with a marriage of someone in the Blacksburg originating Black family, with someone in this Smith family. Thank you so much.
