I'm trying to find information on a Peter Arney, born in 1772, in Tryon (now Lincoln) County, NC. Peter Arney moved to Virginia around 1792, married a woman named Margaret, and started his family. I have looked for any record of his marriage and possible record of his children born in VA. Peter Arney moved again around 1802 to Overton County, TN. So, my "window" is very short timewise (only 10 years). I have tried Wythe County, VA where it was been reported that the marriage took place, however I have been told that Wythe County may not have been it, that it may have been Montgomery County, VA.
