I started useing genealogy software many years ago. I choose Brother's Keeper software at random. It served me well for 12+ years. Once or twice I tested another program briefly but could see no reason to change. About 7-8 months ago I downloaded the PERSONAL ANCESTOR FILE (PAF) program (free!) on the Later Day Saints web page to give it a try. copied (ged) my file data to it and then made double entries to both PAF and Brother's Keeper for three months to keep from losing any of my info in my test. PAF if is a SUPER program. It is a bit complex to understand at first (because it has so many features) but it is head 'n sholders above anything I have seen before. If you take some time to understand it it has MANY rich features...usually available with only one or two clicks. Wonderful report printing abilities, etc. This is a completely free program that would cost many dollars if it were not offered by the Church. This is a completely personal opinion that I am sending because I think that this program would help many genealogists AND IT"S FREE!!! *********************************** Hunting for SPRADLEY and KETCHUM families.
