    3. RE: LAWRENCE BOOK REF FOR ANDREW THOMSPON AS S/0 ELSWICK AND PATTY AKERS Cary Lynne Hall checked her database sources for Andrew Thompson and Harrietta Simpkins and writes the primary reference for the Simpkins (Cary is a Simpkins-Thompson descendant) line is Ora Belle McColman's "Descendants of Elder John Lawrence." However, McColman's book is not the source for the parents of Andrew Thompson: The source that shows Andrew as s/o Elswick Thompson and Patty Akers is from an unpublished Akers-Blackburn paper made available to Clan Thompson researchers last year. To be resolved is the identity of the Andrew Thompsons/Harriett Simpkins in Montgomery Co., Va., records. It looks like one Andrew was dead by 1858, but yet an Andrew signed the death records for his teen-age daughters who died in 1864-1865. 1858 Chancery Court Case #225 March 1858. Suit brought by Charelton family against Andrew Thompson heirs. Heirs noted to be Samuel A. Stone, Ellen Thompson, John Francis and Sarah his wife, formerly Sarah Thompson, John ?Ssurface and Nancy his wife, late Nancy Thompson, Charles Thompson, Mary Thompson, John Thompson, Harriett E. Thompson the last four infants under 21 years of age and Hariett Thompson. Two names I cannot read. Note; No Joseph noted under heirs of Andrew. 1863-1864 >From the Bureau of Vital Statistics, Montgomery Co. Death Register: Mary Thompson d. Oct 1863 Typhoid fever, age 19 B. MontCo, parents Andrew and Harriett Thompson Emaline Thompson d. Oct 1864, Typhoid fever, age 17, B. MontCo, parents Andrew and Hariett Thompson. Source Andrew Thompson, father. MontCo Death Register Nancy Thompson d/o Andrew and Hariett Thompson d. Nov 10, 1863, typhoid fever. Age 19. Case filed 1870 Chancery Court Case # 373. Andrew Thompson qualified as administrator of the estate of Joseph Thompson who died c. 1855 in Kentucky. Lists heirs of Joseph Thompson. Case filed March 1870. Case filed against Stephen Childress as Adm of Andrews estate. I think Stephen Childress was also involved with William Thompson's estate. Andrew may have been brother to Joseph.
