I know there were several Smiths who lived in the county around this time. There was a Henry Smith who married Elizabeth Unknown about 1798 in Montgomery Co. This couple had a son also named Parrot Smith who was born in 1800. Later, Henry's family moved to Warren Co., IN. Since Parrot or Parott is an unusual given name, I am hoping to find a connection between these two families. I have identified three children for Parrot and Hannah Smith, but I'm sure there were others: 1. John Smith, died around 1850 2. Elizabeth "Elsie" Smith, b. abt. 1819 in VA, married Thomas Billups in Putnam Co., (W)VA 3. Mary "Nancy" Smith, b. abt. 1821 in VA, m. Henry J. Chapman, 6 June 1839 in Gallia Co., OH. This couple also lived in Putnam Co., (W)VA. Mary Smith Chapman died abt 1849 in Putnam Co. In 1850, Hannah Halfpane Smith was head of a household in Putnam Co. which included four of the five children of Mary Smith and Henry J. Chapman. I'm not sure if Parrot Smith died before the 1850 census was taken. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has information on this Smith family.
