I am seeking verification of the Revolutionary service of my ancestor, Humphrey Burdett, who served in the Elk Creek militia in Montgomery co VA in Sept. 1782. Also interested in his possible relationship to Jarvis and William Burdett who lived possibly in Bedford or Pittsylvania co VA. Any further info on these Burdetts (sometimes spelled Birdet, Burdett, Burditt) would be appreciated. I have a listing of the militia but do not have any source given. Areleta
