Hi List Looking for info about my GGGgrand father Adam Gearhart who first appears on my horizon in 1783. He is documented then on the tax list for Montgomery Co..He was born in the 1750's and died in Floyd Co.,Ky in the 1830's. Married by most accounts to Margaret Justice. He was appointed constable in 1787 in Capt. Doaks company and appointed the same in 1791 in Wythe Co. He appears to have lived in the Rich Valley area which must be north of Walkers Mtn in present day Bland Co..He and his family and another Gearhart by the name of John, who seems to be kin, came to Floyd Co.,Ky in 1804-6 time frame. John was bn in the late 1760's by census accounts. His wife was Katharina--possibly Mott/Maught. Childrens names--Catherine,John,Adam,Joseph,Mary,Elizabeth,William to name a few.
