Have obituary from ? News Messenger, Christiansburg, for Robert L. Brown, son of Anne Thomas and James M. Brown. there is a photo of him, he was 73, "senior member of the mercantile firm of Brown Brothers. Unfortunately the date of the newspaper is not included. As one of the "honorary pallbearers" was my grandfather, I can be absolutely sure this man died before 1944. "Active pallbearers" were all nephews named Brown or Bell. One of the nephews, Cartmel Brown, is pictured in the photo of the 1928 class of Blacksburg High School.
