searching John Lowder Hello Searchers: I'm new to this list as I've just found that a John Lowder is listed in the Military REcords: VA in the Rev War, Montgomery County. Can some good soul give me a few tips on where I might search for Rev War records or vital statistic info for the 1700-1779. Family lore is that JOhn served in the REv War. My John was married to a Hannah (no maiden name known) and had children: Catherine, Caleb, John Jr, Rachel, Rebekah, and JOseph by 1776 and more later. WE know the family was in North Carolina by 1780 and joined the Quakers (we can find no record of them being Quakers before this date)--but then returned to Virginia in the early 1800s.
