One of the airmen onboard that airplane was Corp. George W. Tidd, from Hendersonville, NC. He is listed in the Virginia WW2 dead because his family relocated to Blacksburg during the war. I am hoping to locate information about Corp. Tidd. Does anyone here have any ideas about where I might locate an archives that may contain letters, diaries, photos that would be useful in my research? I am also interested in locating any living relatives that are still living in the area. Can you help me? Or can you point me in the direction of someone who can? I have versome background information about Corp. Tidd except that he was born in Hendersonville. Did not marry. His mother, Mrs. Ema M. Tidd, in Blacksburg. GW Tidd was a playwright and actor, mostly local theater, before he took off for the warfront. He died after his aircraft was shot down on Dec. 1, 1943 over Burma. Can you advise me please? Is there any Tidds monitoring this website? Charles Webster Staff Writer The Trentonian 600 Perry St Trenton, NJ 08618 (o) 609.989.7800 x 205 (f) 609.393.6072
