Has anyone ever found records of social organizations such as ethnic societies (The German American club for example) or fraternal societies (IOOF, maybe), 4-H, farm bureau, the county fair or any other group that would have contributed to the social life of a community or county? I am developing a program to give to a genealogy class. They are interested in finding out "what life was like when my ancestor lived there". These social organizations surely contributed to the social life but I have no idea where to search for these types of records.
